Living With Art

The raison d'être of Art Projects has always been about living with art. We showcase the work of important Australian artists in unconventional settings; enabling people to spend time with art; to be nourished by it. Now is a time to tap into the infinite inspiration and optimism that comes from living with art.

Christopher O’Doherty, also known as Reg Mombassa, is a musician and artist who exhibited with the highly regarded Watters Gallery from to , when it closed. He designed graphics for ‘Mambo’ and collaborated with Art Projects and Clayton Utz earlier this year. He is socially conscious and rebellious. As such, the first few remarkable months of from bush fires to the pandemic have seen the artist leaning into his feelings of ‘alarm and anxiety’, and expressing this through art.

In his many decades of practice, Mombassa has held solo and group art shows in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, USA, France, Britain, China and Thailand. The artist had a survey show at the S.H. Ervin Gallery in and Manly Galler
