Roberto Luongo
Biography
Roberto Luongo has appeared in three Olympic Games, winning gold twice at Vancouver and Sochi After posting a record at Turin , Luongo won five games at Vancouver , including the gold medal game. He started one game at Sochi as Canada won its second straight Olympic title.
Luongo’s first time wearing the maple leaf was at the IIHF World Junior Championship. Luongo returned to the junior tournament in where he backstopped Canada to a silver medal. Luongo has also appeared in four IIHF World Championships (, , , ), winning gold in and as well as a silver in Luongo was also on Team Canada’s gold medal-winning roster at the World Cup of Hockey.
Luongo’s NHL career began with him being drafted fourth overall in by the New York Islanders. He’s gone on to play 19 seasons in the league, primarily with the Florida Panthers and Vancouver Canucks.
