Christopher Dominguez Abeel is a New York-born, New Jersey-raised writer- producer. He is in his third year of study at Columbia University's MFA Film program. As a student he has received the FilmHaus Producing Award and his writing has gone to the final rounds of the Sundance Episodic Storytelling Lab and the Austin Film Festival Pilot Competition.
Christopher Dominguez Abeel
Christopher Dominguez Abeel decided to pursue a career in screenwriting after losing his home to Hurricane Sandy. Realizing his identity was the one thing that couldn't be taken away, he began writing with the goal of creating sci-fi, action, and horror interwoven with multi-cultural and working class themes.
Christopher has had fellowships with the Film Independent Episodic Storytelling Lab, Sloan Science & Film Foundation, and the Tribeca Film Institute. His writing has also been recognized by the Motion Picture Academy Nicholl Fellowship and the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. These accolades and achievements have led him to write on projects for HBO Max (now known as Max) and Amazon.
In the rare instance Christopher isn't writing, he's either painting Warhammer miniatures, watching combat sports (professional wrestling included!) or spending time with his patient wife and impatient dogs.

Biography
According to traditional sources, Christopher Abeel was born in Amsterdam, Holland about He emigrated to New Netherland and settled in Beverwyck where he was known as "Stoffel Janse."
In November , he married Neeltie Croon. The marriage produced at least four children who established the Abeel family in Albany and its environs for generations to come.
Stoffel Janse was a carpenter/builder who was present at the initial distribution of houselots in He was called a "master carpenter" and is said to have supervised construction of the new Dutch church in and later served as a deacon.
In , he returned to Holland to attend to family business. He returned to Albany later in the year.
Although not identified among the principal fur traders, he served as an attorney and was appointed commissary and then magistrate in During that time he was active trader in real estate.
In April , the governor deeded him a a houselot along the Albany waterfront. He would own other Albany properties as well.
In , his name was absent from a census of Albany householders.

Christopher Dominguez Abeel is a New York-born, New Jersey-raised writer-producer and a graduate of Columbia University’s MFA Film Program. Abeel won Columbia University’s Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Grant in and an Alfred P. Sloan Short Film Production Grant in He was also awarded the FilmHaus Award. Abeel’s screenplays and pilots have placed in the semifinals of the Austin Film Festival’s Screenwriting Competition and have been finalists for the Sundance Institute’s Episodic Storytelling Lab. Themes in his work include identity, otherness and the complications of the American dream. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and their two dogs.
