The eighth of ten children, his father, Joseph, was a steelworker and musician, while his mother, Katherine, worked as a saleswoman and played the piano. Neili, who plays Sharon Collins on the popular RTE soap, is mum to daughters Juno and Ghaliah.
Juno is 15 years old and still in school, while Ghaliah is a dancer and singer and currently studying dance at Fontys Dance Academy in the Netherlands. Ghaliah has sang with artists such as Soulé and Gemma Bradley and also performed in a show at the Dublin Fringe Festival last year.
Neili, who had Ghaliah when she was 20 years old, comes from a family of actors herself - her dad Brendan Conroy is known for The Green Knight and the Bounty, while her brother Ruaidhrí Conroy's best-known work is probably in Into the West.
She previously said she wouldn't like to date someone who didn't have respect for or understanding of the arts.
