In the private sector, Ms. Kargbo’s experience spans industries, geographies and business units; having managed global operations and led programmes for multi-nationals in Africa, Europe, North America (i.e. US and Canada) and South America (i.e. Chile) that require collaboration with governments, development partners, donor agencies, private institutions and other multinational corporations like Eli Lilly and Company, Glaxo Smith Kline, Pfizer, Microsoft, IBM, HP, EDS, Caterpillar, Capgemini, UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, Global Fund, GAVI,and many more, to implement and support major global initiatives .

Commissioner Biobele Georgewill of the Commission of Inquiry on Wednesday 3 July , confirmed that the former Health Minister, Miatta Kargbo, has declined to testify at the Commission. Miatta Kargbo was the Minister of Health and Sanitation in , at the start of the Ebola scourge and was named as a Person of Interest in the Ebola investigation. According to Commissioner Georgewill, while he was in Nigeria, he received a notice from Yada Williams, the lawyer for Miatta Kargbo, indicating his client has declined to testify in the ongoing Commission of Inquiry.

Kargbo had earlier intimated to the Commission, through her lawyer, she was willing to give evidence through a video link from the United Kingdom. The Commission has been preparing for her testimony supported by the World Bank. Georgewill said he will not force anyone to come to the Commission to testify especially Persons of Interest. Since Kargbo declined to testify, Commission Georgewill immediately closed the probe on the Ebola funds. He then urged lawyers for the Persons of Interest to write and submit their written addresses to the Commission. He adjourned the Commission to Monday 8 July

On Monday 12th July, the Sierra Leone Court of Appeal presided over by Justice Ansumana Ivan Sesay and consisting of Justice Adrain Fisher and Justice Momo-Jah Stevens handed down a 34 page judgement in the Appeal filed by former Minister of Health Miatta Kargbo.
Miatta Kargbo was represented by Yada Williams and Associates at the Commission of inquiry and by Melron C. Nicol-Wilson at the Court of Appeal. The state was represented by Robert B. Kowa at both the Commission of inquiry and the Court of Appeal.
The appeal hearing was centred on Justice Biobele Georgewill’s Commission of Inquiry report (COI) which had found Miatta Kargbo wanting for non-supply of 20 ambulances amounting to One Million and Fifty Thousand United States Dollars, and had ordered that the money be refunded by Kargbo.
The COI report also stated that she had unexplained wealth and found her guilty for the offence of failing to declare her assets as provided for under the Anti-Corruption Act.

The former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Sadiq Kapuwa, on Tuesday 19th February , appeared before Commissioner Biobele Georgewill of the Commission of Inquiry, to testify about transactions during the Ebola crisis. The former Permanent Secretary, who is the newly elected Paramount Chief of Nongowa Chiefdom in Kenema District said, he was appointed as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation on 1st April and served till November of the same year. Kapuwa noted that he was supposed to be the vote controller and administrative head of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, but his work was overshadowed by the setting up of the Emergency Operation Centre. “The EOC took over my functions as Permanent Secretary and my function became irrelevant,” he said.
