Early Life and Influences

Frank Abagnale Jr. was born on April 27, , in Bronxville, New York. As the third of four children, Abagnale grew up in New York City. At the age of 12, his parents divorced, deeply affecting him. He attempted to reunite his parents but his efforts were unsuccessful.

Abagnale's father was a successful businessman, well-versed in finance and interpersonal skills. From his father, Frank gained valuable knowledge and experience that later proved instrumental in his criminal career. Ironically, his father became his first victim of fraud.
