The US-educated daughter of Congressman Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales, Jr. &#; Alyssa Michaela “Mica” M. Gonzales, 27 &#; will vye for a seat in the Pampanga provincial board in the upcoming polls.

Senior Deputy Speaker Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. has developed a trust issue with Vice President Sara Duterte.
This, as the high-ranking House of Representatives official recalled on Friday, July 12 the past controversial statements of the lady official.
The latest of such statements is Vice President Duterte's pronouncement that she would be skipping President Marcos' State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22, while joking that she was the "designated survivor" of the event.
Gonzales says the joke "leaves a bad taste in the mouth", given Vice President Duterte's stature.
The designated survivor joke implies that something catastrophic will happen to the SONA and result to the death of all the attending government leaders, a la the Netflix series.

House Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. has brushed off as "fake news" the reports that he or his family was to blame for the damage caused to the flood control project in Candating, Arayat, Pampanga.
Gonzales set the record straight during a recent consultation meeting at the House of Representatives that was attended by officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and local executives.
“Marami pong fake news ang kumakalat na pilit inuugnay ako at ang aking pamilya sa pagkasira ng dike. Para sa kaalaman ng lahat, wala po akong kinalaman, o ang aking pamilya, sa implementasyon ng programang ito,” he said.
